First Corinthians 1:10 (KJV) — “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”
Unity of one heart
There must be a unity in marriages/relationships, and this unity must be based on the Word of God. Unity must be the foundation of all couples’ relationships. If not, these will not work. A disunity of the Word will severely weaken and destroy the true unity. In its place, there will exist a shallow, superficial harmony. The basic idea is to allow the Word of God to mend broken relationships; therefore, the relationships (married couples and/or singles) are no longer divided. The supportive scriptures can be read in Romans 16:17 (KJV) and Philippians 1:27 (KJV).
The demand is for unity, internally, in their individual minds and in decisions made among themselves using the Word of God, which establishes the standard of truth on which true unity rests (KJV: Acts 4:32; Ephesians 4:3).
Both of you should confess every day that there will never be any division among you because you have learned to confess the same thing and to walk in unity. Also, it should be your confession that you both are joined together in the same mind (walking in agreement with the Word of God) and having the same spirit.
Confess every day that you and your partner walk together in love; see that your love brings you in a place of patience and loving kindness toward one another, not envious toward one another. The two of you never behave unseemly toward one another, always seeking to please one another. Never do you think evil toward one another. It’s the love that you share for one another that covers a multitude of faults and mistakes between the two of you. See your love being renewed day by day for one another, according to the Word (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 KJV; 2 Corinthians 4:16 KJV; 1 Peter 4:8 KJV).
According to 2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV), both of you have been given the authority and power to cast down every imagination that may come against your marriage/relationship in your minds. So begin to cast down every high thing that attempts to exalt itself against the knowledge of God concerning your relationship. The two of you should begin to bring every evil thought into captivity, by the authority and power of God’s Word to the obedience of Christ.
See your marriage/relationship grounded and settled in love, and it shall not be moved away. Know that it’s God’s purpose for the two of you to prosper and to have a happy, healthy and successful marriage/relationship even as you prosper spiritually (3 John 1:2 KJV).
